In 2001 Gary opened The Ideas Vault, Australia's first dedicated creative space. The Ideas Vault was designed specifically to enable companies and groups of people to generate better ideas for their business or project. Not simply your standard workshop room, The Vault's octagonal shape, natural light, outdoor space, furniture, colourful environment and facilities make it a unique and exciting venue for workshops or meetings.

"The Vault is an old Commonwealth Bank Building that was part of the old Sydney Showground site. It sat vacant for 6 years before one day I walked past it and thought - that would be a great workshop venue! When I set about creating a unique environment for corporate training and development there were two great movies that provided the inspiration. The first was 'Big' starring Tom Hanks and the other was 'Patch Adams' starring Robin Williams. Both films inspired me to build a better place for thinking, a place where people could come and drop their shoulders, relax, play a bit, have fun and create."   Gary Bertwistle
