For three decades I have been a glutard. No gluten, well before it was even a thing. I've been a regular at our new Wholegreen Bakery. Everything at this bakery is gluten free... everything... pastries, pies, sandwiches, tarts, loaves of bread, cookies, banana bread... you name it... a true bakery. What is so fascinating for me is that I automatically scan the food selection and menu looking for what I can eat... then I remember, actually I can eat it all, it's all gluten free. I am so conditioned as a reflex to scan the limited options, my brain starts to eliminate and avoid the sandwiches, pastries, bread... I have to consciously pull myself out of the old construct to say, here it is different. It's a great analogy for our conditioning in life. We have to stop, detach, look at the situation, look at our thinking and review. Wholgreen Bakery is heaven for glutards. In Unhinged Habits by Jonathan Goodman, he said "And that’s the problem. In a modern world designed to distract us, we don’t actively architect our lives. We default into them."
