A 68-year-old Domino's delivery driver in Idaho, USA realised his store was out of Diet Coke. Being a thoughtful guy, he stopped at a nearby shop and bought it himself to fulfill the order. That moment went viral. The Domino's driver Dan Simpson said "They say I went the extra mile, but for goodness’ sake, it was no big deal." For Dan, he was just doing the right thing, he was being thoughtful. A recent blog spoke about the thoughtfulness of the Japanese culture. The little courteous things they do, not to get tips, but because it's nice and it's thoughtful. What a beautiful value for us to adopt. Being thoughtful. Taking the time to detach from today's busy world to consider others and think about what we could do in the smallest possible way to help make their day better. Being thoughtful is such a beautiful concept to include into our personal DNA and I wonder how that would sit as part of a company's DNA as a stated value, if every company member was thoughtful to each other, and thoughtful to their suppliers and especially downstream to their customer or client.
