Bring On The Broth

Many of us suffer from inflammation in our gut. Recently I have been getting into bone broth after hearing how beneficial it can be for our gut and skin. Bone broth, when made properly, contains the bone, cartilage and marrow from grass fed bones to form a broth that is easy to assimilate and healing for the gut. The benefits come mostly from the presence of collagen and gelatin in the bone broth. The collagen is broken down to produce gelatin through the cooking process and the gelatin acts as an aid to digestion which has been linked successfully to the treatment of digestive conditions such as Chron’s disease, constipation, IBS, hyperacidity and colitis.

When you think of pro or prebiotics this is a healthy and nutritious option. Broth sooths the GI tract by lining the mucous membranes of the intestines, thus protecting it from ingested materials that may be harmful. The broth is said to be a great way to treat leaky gut syndrome. It’s easy to make – all you do is get a bag of grass fed organic cattle or chicken bones, place them in a stewing pot or slow cooker, cover with cold filtered water, add in a cap full of apple cider vinegar which helps to extract the essential minerals from the bones, bring to the boil, reduce to a simmer then let it sit. It needs to simmer anywhere from 6-24 hours, the longer the better. You can then store in your fridge for up to 5 days or freeze to use at a later time.

I’ve been using broth now for a number of months and can see definite advantages to this simple process. Ensure your bones are from grass fed animal bones for the most nutritionally dense broth.

Get Your Mojo Working in 2015

There were many calls that came through earlier this year from people who wanted help to get their Mojo working. Sometimes you just need to have a corner man. Someone who is in your corner to offer advice, challenge you, hold you accountable, bring new thinking to the table and ultimately be a cheerleader when you need it most. It was with this in mind, that I created the Mojo 121 programme.

Mojo 121 gives you the opportunity to work personally with me over the course of the year. We initially spend a half a day together getting things sorted and then each month we have a dairised one hour Skype call where I answer questions, help create new thinking, provide direction, hold you accountable and challenge you in order to get the best from yourself.

I only take on a few people to the programme to ensure that we have proper focus and great outcomes and I have to say, 2014 has been an incredibly rewarding programme, with the wonderful success that the people that I worked with had in their personal and professional lives around health, family, kids, business, entrepreneurialism, learning and general Mojo.

If you want to have somebody in your corner in 2015 and would like to work one on one with me to get your Mojo working and set you up for a spectacular year, then please click on the link below and get in touch to find out more. Programs start in January and at this stage there are a select number of spots left so I urge you to get in touch if this is of interest. There’s a big difference between thinking about it and doing it. This programe is for people who want to see significant change and have a spectactular year – rather than just another year.
