It has been a big week at the Espresso office with the launch of the Kickstarter campaign and the start of Rocktober.  In an effort to keep you all updated, we have jammed it all into One Big Edition of the Espresso!

Rocktober started big with entrepreneur, Hollywood stuntman, actor, businessman, and Pirate - Tait Fletcher, live from Santa Fe.  Our most popular show ever and a must listen to get your Mojo working. Loads of gold in this one!

The Mojo Journal is on its way to a successful Kickstarter campaign,  if you have not pledged yet, check it out here - we sure could use your support.

We’ve also included some great ideas we have collected from around the globe this week for you to check out.

The Mojo Journal - Available Now on Kickstarter

As much as I love to write, I am also a great believer in journaling so I have decided to create a journal that also includes some of my own thoughts and stories interspersed within its pages, to give guidance and inspiration, and to help unlock cracking new ideas in your world. With a Mojo Journal, you have something personal where you can dream, write, create, and record your thoughts, feeling and aspirations.

It took me a long time to decide how to create a journal that was different enough to what was already available and was a perfect resource to help people unlock their next great idea for themselves or their business, or to gift to a friend or a partner. Sometimes all we need is just a little prompt to help get the creative juices flowing. The Mojo Journal is what I am hoping to create, with your help, through making a pledge via Kickstarter.
It is very different to anything else I have ever done, but looking at the final artwork now, it is the project that I am the most proud of. I wanted to produce something that I would want in my backpack. A journal that provokes your thinking and draws the pen to page, something to inspire new ideas.

There are stories about Mojo sprinkled randomly thought the journal all designs to provoke your thinking and help you unlock great ideas.   When you need a shot of mojo, you simply open the pages of this journal and harvest the best of the best of your thoughts from months and years gone by.

MAKE A PLEDGE TODAY and help me get this project off the ground. Better still, share this opportunity with someone in your life who you think would appreciate or benefit from a beautiful and inspiring journal, for dreaming, writing, creating and recording their thoughts, feelings and aspirations and help them get their Mojo working!

IDEAS : A Novel Approach

There is no doubt that the book industry has been slow to innovate. However small independent entrepreneurs are dragging the industry into a new modus operandi - the area of creativity. We've seen a bookshop in Japan that only sells one title per week reinforcing the trend of minimalism.

Now in London we have a creative one, based on operating a delivery service between local independent stores. Is there anything more frustrating than going to your bookshop to buy a book you have read or heard about only to find it's not in stock! NearSt seeks to fix this…by operating a delivery service working with independent bookshops where you can order a book and either collected or have it delivered within 24 hours.

IDEAS : Congratulations - You have Got the Bot!

Artificial Intelligence is quickly becoming part of our lives. Firstjob is the recruitment firm that has taken the first step in automating the recruitment process via a recruitment automation bot, Mya. Mya automates 75% of the recruitment process with essentially the first part of your recruitment session conducted through Mya.   Here’s how it works:  You submit  your traditional application which can be done through Facebook messenger, Skype, email or SMS. You then will speak with Mya.  You then go through the standard automated questions that will start the qualifying process for applicants. Once completed, Mya will rank candidates on factors like qualifications, recent positions, engagement, and other metrics that Firstjob believe are important for the job.

What is interesting is that the people applying for positions felt the follow-up from dealing with the bot was beneficial based on the fact that although automated, at least they were kept in the loop regarding the progress of their application. One of the key complaints in the job application process is that once the application is submitted candidates never hear any more. Perhaps Mya can at least fix that.

IDEAS : Grab a Brew and Journal

Café Littéraire is a place where philosophers and scholars would get together to discuss their ideas. No doubt they would sit pen in hand sketching, recording, and philosophising about life.
Perhaps this is the inspiration behind Moleskine creating their own cafe. The cafe will combine coffee, art, a library, and obviously a place where you can buy their products. Opening in Milan, the store is said to be a chance for you to check out their products as well as hear workshops and lectures.  Sound pretty cool place to sit and journal!

What to Do Next

That was the question that confronted me when I thought about writing my next book.  I really wanted to create something different that would help people unlock their great ideas and get their Mojo working.

As much as I love to write, I am also a great believer in journaling so I decided to create a journal that also included some of my own thoughts and stories interspersed within its pages, to give guidance and inspiration, and to help unlock cracking new ideas in your world.

It took me a long time to decide how to do a journal that I felt was different enough to what was already available and was a perfect resource to help people unlock their next great idea for themselves or their business.

Sometimes all we need is just a little prompt to help get the creative juices flowing. The Mojo Journal is what I am hoping to create, with your help, through Kickstarter.

It is very different to anything else I have ever done, but looking at the final artwork now, it is the project that I am the most proud of. I wanted to produce something that I would want in my backpack. A journal that provokes my thinking and draws the pen to page, something to inspire new ideas. It’s 240 pages, leather bound, with a pocket at the back, red elastic binder, created on high quality paper with hundreds of lined blank pages for your thoughts.

There are stories about Mojo sprinkled randomly thought the journal all designs to provoke your thinking and help you unlock great ideas.   When you need a shot of mojo, you simply open the pages of this journal and harvest the best of the best of your thoughts from months and years gone by.

Kickstarter is pledge based and I need your support or pledge in order to bring my idea to life. Check out the details here, and if you are able to pledge I sure would appreciate it.

Kickstarter is a global crowdfunding platform focused on creativity. The company’s stated mission is to help bring creative projects to life. Kickstarter has reportedly received more than $1.9 billion in pledges from 9.4 million backers to fund 257,000 creative projects, such as films, music, stage shows, comics, journalism, video games, technology and food-related projects. People who back Kickstarter projects are offered tangible rewards and one-of-a-kind experiences in exchange for their pledges.
