“He who is waiting on the battlefield is going to win and he who is rushing and running late to the battlefield will lose” - Sun Tzu. Whether we like it or not each day we are at battle with competitors in an effort to generate sales and ultimately profit. Too many of us are rushing from meeting to meeting, email to email, social media platform to the other and confusing activity with accomplishment. Rushing steals your Mojo. The great leaders in any aspect of life are the ones who take time to think, plan, ponder, and dream. The above quote from Sun Tzu author of The Art of War, one of the most popular books in history, has it right when he states that if you rush from battle a battle you will lose. Always build time into your day for thinking. If your meeting is set at 3 PM plan to be outside the building at 2:50pm and give yourself the freedom of 10 minutes to consider the agenda, plan your strategy, or simply read a book, or listen to a podcast. Do not get to your meeting early then fill it full of texts, emails, or social media. Think like a strategist - for learners are earners. © GB
