 Okay - this one is kind of odd. A new project is looking to build a dairy farm on a floating pontoon. Out of the Netherlands, The Floating Farm set to launch in January 2017 is a daily dairy production farm where the cows essentially live on a transparent barge.
A key feature of the farm will be guided tours where you can visit the floating farm and check out their technology for food production, and waste and water treatment and where visitors can view the entire process of milk handling, animal welfare and the high-tech robotics. They also hope to operate as a high-tech living lab where they research with several technology partners and universities a better food production process, waste and water treatment. We can only imagine the line up of people on dry land who will have their own opinions on this method of farming.
