Just Sitting

If you live in a capital city then sitting in traffic is commonplace and far too prevalent. Tomorrow morning, if you find yourself sitting in traffic, perhaps ask yourself this question -“Is this live time or dead time?” 

What’s the difference? It's all about how you choose to see that time and how you choose to use it.

• Do you sit in traffic relaxed because really there's nothing you can do about?
• Do you sit there, filled with stress, your leg tapping with frustration, occasionally banging the wheel whilst all the time, your cortisol levels an reach all-time high?
• Or do you accept the fact that there is absolutely nothing you can do about it, embrace some alone time, listen to a pod cast or choose an opportunity or question to ponder and sit quietly and think?
  

​​Live time versus dead time.  Many of us still have not embraced audiobooks or pod casts. These two resources make dead time into live time. Whether it be meditating sitting quietly and pondering a challenge, or using the opportunity to listen, learn and understand more through a pod cast – all are opportunities, when faced with dead time, to turn it into live time.
