Need A Brain Boost?
There’s always talk about fitness, nutrition and exercise for our body. But rarely do we hear or read information specifically to do with our mind energy. It’s a term I heard recently and it had me reaching for my journal.
So, let me ask you this:
Do you sometimes find yourself foggy and lacking clarity?
Do you sometimes have trouble recalling the name or a to-do that you thought of only minutes ago?
Do you find yourself in situations where a title, an interaction or a piece of information just won’t come to mind?
Do you find yourself blankly staring at a piece of paper, hoping for inspriation, but nothing will come?
Chances are you’re lacking a little mind energy and what’s important to know is that this can be fundamentally controlled by your diet. There’s been a lot written about how our diets are starving our brains of energy. This lack of energy means you don’t have the clarity, the drive, or the memory capacity and quite often things start to fail, and of course we fall back to the, ‘Oh it’s because I’m so busy, I’m getting older, I am just tired’. It may well be that you are tired, but mostly it comes down to what we are feeding our engine.
To find out more about what you should be eating, take a quick look online for what the brain requires to function at its best. It needs good healthy fats that come from eggs, salmon, fish oils, extra virgin olive oils, nuts, avocado, leafy greens and the like. This is not meant to be a nutrition note but more a call to action to say if you suffer any of the symptoms above, then take a look at your diet and see where you could slot in more of the food required for mind energy.
