I was speaking at a gig the other day in Alexandria, Sydney. Joseph was my taxi driver. On the way to the venue, we drove past a Ferrari dealership. Joseph said 'That’s my dream… to own a Ferrari F430.”
Curious, I asked him about his dream. He said “I always dreamt of owning a Harley Softtail and now I have one”. He then passed me his phone with a photo of him sitting on his Harley-Davidson. Joseph then leaned forward and pointed to a Ferrari necklace hanging from his rear view mirror. He said “That’s there - all day, every day so I can keep focused on my dream”. He said “It will happen one day - I just work each day toward my Ferrari.” Whether it be a photo, an insignia, a word, a drawing, or a Pinterest board, having a visual representation of your dream helps your brain focus on what you want and not just what you think you can do. See it first, then get after it, one small notch at a time.© GB
