The Sharing Economy

The Espresso has been keenly following the trend around the sharing economy. Now Peerby, a start up out of Amsterdam is doing a high tech version of the sharing economy.

The idea is you download the Peerby app and on there you load all the things you would be happy to lend out to others in your local area - or, conversely you can request things you need to borrow from others. If somebody nearby has the particular item you want to borrow, you negotiate a price with them, borrow the item and the job is done.

​Given our increasingly minimalist lifestyles and smaller living spaces, people don't want to have to buy something they may only use once. They’d rather borrow it, pay someone nearby, give it back and not have to store the item long term. Easy!
